How to Qualify a Videographer (Gear They Must Have)

Believe it or not, I have been in your shoes: hiring videographers is challenging, to say the least. There is so much talent out there, but it's difficult to weed through all the noise to find the perfect videographer.

Through out the process of scaling my business from a one person operation to more of team effort, I've been forced to create processes to find videographers. In order for me to hire someone, I have to be willing to put my name and reputation on the line. The stakes are high -- if I have a contractor take on a job and they don't deliver as promised, it's on me.

You might feel the same way as you look for someone to capture your brand's story. Maybe you fear that the quality of the video won't align with your branding or that the person you choose won't understand your business and what you need to promote it.

These fears often cause business owners to pay much more than they need to when creating video content. The reality is you just need to find someone at the level you need.

So how do you find affordable videographers without being burned by wasting money, time and energy?

The video below is Part 1 of a 2 part series that answers this question. The first video (below) goes over what to look for when hiring a videographer.

You'll learn:

  • What camera should they own

  • What audio equipment they need

  • How to spot expertise

  • How to recognize when they are using you to just pay bills
